Foundation
The Saskatchewan Optometric Foundation (SOF) was adopted in 1960 as the charitable arm of the Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists. It is funded by optometrists across the province and actively supports Saskatchewan-based eye health and vision care initiatives by granting annual funding for a variety of projects that serve to improve the eye health and visual welfare of humankind.
Over the years, these have included donating funds to the Saskatchewan divisions of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Canadian Diabetes Association, awarding scholarships to students studying at accredited schools of Optometry, and donating funds or vision-related equipment to a variety of organizations, including libraries, sports organizations, low vision clinics, hospitals, and science centres.
If you wish to apply to the Foundation to fund your vision or eye-health related project or event, please submit a detailed proposal describing your organization and the goals of the intended project to the attention of:
